Short-term Memory loss

They’re weaning Papa off all apparati. They took away the catheter yesterday. Today at 21.00, the IV. Soon, the feeding tube, and nasal-oxy tube. He has physiotherapy everyday. Its really rehad period now.
But he’s really desoriented and has short term memory loss. He can’t remember coming to the Philippines. He mixes up memories, places and people. He has this recurring thought, that he’s still in Holland. He remembers you all from Holland.
But after what he went through, its normal for his brain to do this. It went into shock. So, this is just his brains way to find its way around his brain to connect to where he is now. We are told just to keep talking to him, reminding him. I’m showing him pictures and stuff. In one conversation, I explain to him 3 times why he’s in the hospital. And that the hospital is in the Philippines, and not Holland. He asks where is Makati in Holland?
